Be Tick Smart this Season

Tick Submission and identification can be done at GRWC

  1. Bring the tick in a secure container
  2. Bring the tick to the GRWC for identification. If the tick cannot be brought to the office within a week a removal, it can be frozen until drop off
  3. complete a Tick submission form at the GRWC Office

Tick Removal

  1. If the tick is attached, use a fine-tipped tweezer or tick removal too to grasp the tick as close to your skin as possible. DO NOT use your fingers
  2. Pull the tick straight out, gentle but firmly making sure to remove the entire tick (including the head). DON'T squeeze it - avoid crushing the tick's body
  3. Thoroughly clean the bite site with rubbing alcohol and/or soap and water
